How to use the BX Behance Kit
BX turns your finished design project into a Behance presentation. You answer a few questions and say yes at each step. At the end you get your slides and the text to paste.
How it works in 3 steps
Install it with one sentence
Open the kit folder in your AI agent and paste one sentence. It installs everything.
Start your project
Type /bx-start and answer a few questions about your work.
Approve each step
Say yes at each stop. You get your Behance slides and the text to paste.

Install
Install it with one sentence
Your AI agent installs the kit for you. You only say yes.
Claude Code or Codex
Download the kit from the kit page (free UDL account) and unzip it. You get a folder called bx-behance-kit.
Open the bx-behance-kit folder in Claude Code or Codex. In the Claude Code desktop app, choose the folder. Or in a Terminal, cd into it and type claude.
Paste this sentence into the chat:
Install BX Behance Kit on this computer. Follow START-HERE.md in this folder.Say yes to what it asks. When it is done, restart Claude Code and type the line below. In Codex, type /prompts:bx-start My Project.
/bx-start My Project
- Mac and Windows. Windows works without Ubuntu (beta).
- ChatGPT: no install, see below.
ChatGPT
No install. In ChatGPT open Explore GPTs, then Create, then Configure. You need a plan that can create GPTs.
Paste chatgpt/custom-gpt/instructions.md as the instructions and upload the nine files from chatgpt/knowledge/ (both are inside the unzipped kit).
Turn on Web Search, Code Interpreter and Data Analysis, and save it as Only me. Then start:
start: My Project
Do it by hand (advanced)
Only if you prefer to type the steps yourself, or the agent could not finish. You will use the Terminal. A terminal is the text window where you type commands; on a Mac, open the Terminal app.

- bx-behance-kit
The kit starts in Downloads. Move it to your Home folder before you run anything.
Download the kit from the kit page. You need a free UDL account. It lands in your Downloads folder.
Double-click the zip. You get a folder called bx-behance-kit-v1.0.
Move that folder to your Home folder (in Finder: Go, then Home) and rename it to bx-behance-kit, so it lives at ~/bx-behance-kit. Do not run it from Downloads.
Open Terminal (press Cmd+Space, type Terminal). Type this and press Enter:
cd ~/bx-behance-kitNow type this. It checks Python, Node and ffmpeg, installs what BX needs inside the kit folder (no sudo), and adds the /bx commands to Claude Code. If something is missing, it tells you what to install.
bash scripts/install.sh --claudeAt the end it prints a few lines. Paste them into the file ~/.zshrc (open it with the first command, paste, save). Then open a new Terminal and check:
touch ~/.zshrc && open -e ~/.zshrcbash "$BX_HOME/scripts/doctor.sh"Start Claude Code and begin. Your project appears in ~/bx-behance-kit/projects/my-project/. Put your images in its 04-assets/ folder.

/prompts:bx-start My Project
If you already have a ~/.codex/AGENTS.md, the installer does not overwrite it: merge ours into yours by hand. If /prompts: shows nothing, restart Codex.
What the local editions need
- Python 3.10 or newer
- Node.js 18 or newer
- ffmpeg
- About 400 MB of disk space
- An account with Claude, Codex or ChatGPT. The kit does not include one.
Environment variables
- BX_HOME
- Where the kit is installed. Default ~/bx-behance-kit.
- BX_PROJECTS
- One folder per presentation. Default $BX_HOME/projects.
- BX_PROJECT
- The project you are working on. The start command tells you the path.
- BX_LIBRARY
- Optional. Reference slides you saved yourself.
- BX_MOCKUPS
- Optional. Your own mockup PSD files.
- BX_CHROME_CHANNEL
- Optional. Set it to chrome to use your installed Google Chrome.
Check your setup
bash "$BX_HOME/scripts/doctor.sh"Run the doctor script. It lists what is present and what is missing. Fix every [MISSING] line; [optional] lines can wait.
Windows
The kit runs natively on Windows (beta), so you do not need Ubuntu. If something does not work, WSL is the fallback: install Ubuntu from the Microsoft Store, follow the steps above inside it, and keep the kit and your projects inside WSL, not under /mnt/c.
If something fails
- Playwright is not installed: run npm install in the kit folder.
- No project selected: set BX_PROJECT or pass --project <slug>.
- MP4 or GIF not made: install ffmpeg. Nothing is lost.
- Codex shows no skills: restart Codex and check each skill folder has a SKILL.md.
Questions
Questions
Does the kit publish to Behance for me?
No. It writes the text and prepares the images. You press Publish. It never logs in, buys or downloads for you without asking.
Do I need paid tools?
No. The slides are built from your own files, your own mockups, free mockups and HTML. Paid and AI routes are optional.
Can ChatGPT run it?
ChatGPT plans, writes specs, checks slides you upload and writes the publish text. It cannot run scripts or save files, so you do the production steps yourself.
Do I need to use the Terminal?
No. Your AI agent installs it; you only approve.
Does it work on Windows?
Yes, natively (beta). No Ubuntu needed.
Can I answer in Arabic?
Yes. Answer in your own language. The files and the publish text are written in English.
Ready to try it on your own project?
The kit page has the download and the printable checklist.
