These terms are an agreement between you and Digi Clovers LLC (“we”, “us”), which runs UDL — Ultimate Designers Lab: the website at udl.community and the UDL apps for iPhone and Android (together, “UDL”).
By creating an account or using UDL, you accept these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not accept them, do not use UDL.
What UDL is
UDL is a learning community for designers. It has community spaces, a written curriculum with voice-over, video courses, weekly challenges with reviews, live sessions, and chat between members.
A free account lets you read public posts, react and save. Some spaces, courses, chat, challenges and live sessions are for Pro members. We keep improving UDL, so features and content can change, be added or be removed.
Your account
- You must be 16 or older. If you are 13, 14 or 15, you may use UDL only with your parent’s or guardian’s permission, and you confirm that you have it when you sign up. UDL is not for children under 13. If the law of your country sets a higher age, that age applies. A parent or guardian can ask us to delete a child’s account at hello@udl.community.
- Give accurate details and confirm your email address.
- We send you the emails the service needs, such as email confirmation, password resets, receipts and membership changes. We send news and design tips only if you opt in, and you can stop them at any time with the unsubscribe link or in Settings.
- One person, one account. Do not share your account or sign in as someone else.
- Keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens on your account. If you think someone else has access, reset your password and tell us at hello@udl.community.
Community rules
We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. This applies to everything you post, upload or send, including profiles, covers, posts, comments, voice notes, chat messages and challenge submissions. Do not post or send anything that:
- is hateful, or attacks people for their religion, ethnicity, nationality, gender, disability or any similar trait;
- harasses, bullies, threatens or intimidates anyone;
- is sexually explicit or pornographic;
- sexualises, exploits or endangers children in any way;
- shows or encourages violence, terrorism, self-harm or suicide;
- promotes illegal acts, or sells or offers illegal goods or services;
- is spam, a scam or phishing, or pretends to be someone else;
- shares someone’s private information without their permission;
- infringes copyright, trademarks or other rights, or presents someone else’s work as your own;
- contains malware, or tries to break, overload, scrape or get around the security or access rules of UDL.
Also, do not share Pro content outside UDL, and do not misuse reports to harass people. Give critique about the work, not the person.
Reporting, blocking and moderation
You can report any post, comment, challenge submission, chat message or member, and you can block any member, in the app and on the website. Blocking hides each person’s posts and comments from the other, stops direct messages between you, and stops notifications from them. See Support for the steps.
Our moderators review every report. We aim to act on reports of objectionable content within 24 hours. When content or behaviour breaks these terms, we remove the content and remove the user who posted it: we may warn, suspend or permanently delete the account, without notice, and refuse a new account. We may also review content that nobody reported. We report illegal content to the authorities where the law requires it.
Private intimate images. To report a private intimate image shared without consent, use our take-it-down page; we remove it within 48 hours of a valid request, remove identical copies we can find, block the same file from being uploaded again, and tell the member who posted it.
Copyright and repeat infringers
We respect other people’s rights and we expect you to do the same. If you believe something on UDL infringes your copyright, send us a notice on our copyright complaint page. That page is for copyright only. To report abuse, harassment or anything else, use the Report button (see Reporting, blocking and moderation).
A complete notice names the work, gives the link to the material on UDL and your contact details, states that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised, states that the notice is accurate and that you are the owner of the right or authorised to act for the owner, under penalty of perjury, and carries your signature. We ask you to confirm the notice by email before we act on it. A notice that is missing something is logged and not acted on.
What we do. When we accept a notice we disable the material (we do not delete it), tell the member who posted it, and send them the notice, including your contact details, with a way to answer it. A false notice can make you liable for damages under the law (17 U.S.C. § 512(f)).
Counter-notice. If you posted material that was disabled and you believe this was a mistake or a misidentification, you can send a counter-notice from the link in our email. We send it to the person who complained. Unless they tell us that they have filed a court action, we restore the material between 10 and 14 business days after we receive your counter-notice. A person restores it, never an automatic timer.
Repeat infringers. We end the accounts of members who repeatedly infringe copyright. When three notices against the same account are accepted within any 12 months, we suspend the account and then decide whether to close it for good. A notice that is withdrawn, rejected or successfully countered does not count. You can appeal by emailing hello@udl.community within 7 days.
Our designated agent for copyright notices is shown on the copyright complaint page.
Your content
You keep ownership of what you post. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, adapt for technical reasons (for example resizing an image or converting a video), display and distribute your content within UDL, so we can run the service and show it to the members you shared it with.
The licence lasts while your content is on UDL. If you delete your account, the posts and comments you shared stay visible, shown as “Deleted member” with nothing that identifies you, unless you delete them first or ask us to remove them; the licence continues for them until they are removed. Copies can remain in backups until the backups expire.
You confirm that you have the rights to what you post, and that it follows these terms. Critique and reviews from other members and mentors are their opinions. If you send us ideas or feedback about UDL, we may use them without any obligation to you.
Our content
The curriculum, lessons, voice-overs, courses, challenges, design and branding of UDL belong to us or to those who licensed them to us. You may use them for your own learning while you have access. You may not copy, record, sell, share or publish them outside UDL, collect them with automated tools, or use them to build a competing service.
Pro membership and payment
Pro membership is sold only on the UDL website and paid through Stripe. The mobile apps sell nothing: there are no purchases, prices or payment links in them.
- The price and the billing period are shown on our pricing page before you pay.
- A membership renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.
- You can cancel on the website, in your profile’s Settings tab under Billing. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for.
- If a payment fails, Pro features can stop until it is paid. Your account and your posts stay.
- If we change the price, we tell you before it applies to your next renewal.
- If you think you are owed a refund, email hello@udl.community. We look at every request, and we always honour any refund or cancellation right the law gives you.
Live sessions
Live sessions run on an outside video-meeting service. Some sessions are recorded. By joining a recorded session you accept that it may be recorded, that we keep the recording for as long as UDL runs and share it with members, and that if we publish its written transcript, which can include what members say, it is shown to signed-in members only. Keep your camera and microphone off if you do not want to appear.
You can ask us to remove your part of a recording or a transcript by emailing hello@udl.community or using the report option, and we remove it within 24 hours. The rules on this page apply in sessions too.
Ulti, the AI assistant
Ulti is an AI assistant inside UDL. It is not a person, and it is not Ahmed. These terms apply to Ulti together with the rest of this page. How Ulti handles your data is in the Privacy Policy.
It can be wrong. Ulti writes its answers with an AI model. An answer can be incomplete, out of date or simply mistaken. Ulti is here to help you learn: it is not professional, legal, financial or medical advice, and it does not promise any job, income or result. Check the source Ulti shows, and use your own judgement.
What the labels mean. When an answer comes from UDL content, Ulti shows the source. When part of an answer is not from UDL content, Ulti says so (“This is a general answer, not from UDL content”) and tells you it will ask Ahmed. A reply from Ahmed or the UDL team is marked as such. Please read the label before you rely on an answer.
Age and beta. Ulti is only for members who are 16 or older, and you confirm this the first time you use it. Ulti is currently a beta open to Founding Members only; we may open it to other members later.
Who can use what. Free members can ask Ulti about the platform. Questions about UDL content, including the curriculum, recordings, clips, tricks and resources, are for Pro members. There are daily limits, and we may change them, pause Ulti or stop offering it at any time.
How to use it. Do not send other people’s personal data, passwords or confidential client material. Only upload images you made or have the right to share. Do not try to make Ulti break its rules, show its instructions or reach content you cannot open, and do not use it to produce anything unlawful, abusive or harmful. We may limit or suspend an account that misuses Ulti, under “Reporting, blocking and moderation” above.
Our content. Ulti’s answers draw on UDL content that belongs to us (see “Our content” above). Use the answers for your own learning, and do not copy them out of UDL in bulk.
Reporting. If an answer is wrong, unsafe or unfair, report it from the message menu. Our moderators review reports: the moderation screen shows them the reported answer and the question it answered, not the rest of your chat. A report is the only way our staff read your messages with Ulti, apart from the question Ulti sends to Ahmed when UDL content cannot answer it.
Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time, in the app or on the website. Deleting it erases your personal data at once and cannot be undone; the posts and comments you shared stay, shown as “Deleted member”. What is erased and what stays is explained in the Privacy Policy, and the steps are on our Support page. If you cannot sign in, you can also delete your account from the account deletion page.
We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or to protect members or the service. If we end a paid account for a serious breach, we may not refund the current period. The sections on your content, our content, disclaimers, liability and the law continue to apply after an account ends.
Apple and Google
If you use the UDL app from the App Store or Google Play, these terms are between you and us, not Apple or Google. We, not they, are responsible for the app and its content, for maintenance and support, and for any claim about it, such as a product, legal or intellectual property claim. You must also follow the rules of the store you downloaded it from. Apple and its subsidiaries are third party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
Disclaimers
UDL is provided “as is” and “as available”. Our materials are for education. They do not guarantee any job, income or result. We do not promise that UDL will always be available or free of errors. Content posted by members is theirs, not ours, and we are not responsible for it. Links to outside sites are provided for convenience, and those sites have their own rules.
Limit of liability
As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, business or data, arising from your use of UDL. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud or gross error, or any liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top, and for a significant change we will tell members by email or in the service before it takes effect. If you keep using UDL after that, you accept the new terms. If you do not accept them, you can delete your account.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt. Any dispute about them or about UDL is for the competent courts of Cairo, Egypt.
Before going to court, please email us so we can try to settle the matter. If you use UDL as a consumer, nothing here takes away the protection that the mandatory law of your country gives you.
General
- If any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
- If we do not enforce a right straight away, we have not given it up.
- We may transfer these terms to a company that takes over UDL. Your rights under them stay the same, and we will tell you before it happens.
- These terms are also published in Arabic. If the two versions differ, the English version prevails.
